That is definitely one of (if not the) best comic jams from Trubble Club.
Your lack of work on finals is my (our?) gain!
Your aliens are so cute. You should do an alien book :D
I think that our generation may be doomed when we start to rely on sources like google and wikipedia. Because we know we can look up the information whenever we want with the simple click of a mouse, our brains have more trouble retaining information as something more permanent. :(
is your panel the.....third one?
nope! guess again!
And yeah, the internet and cellphones are dooming us all.
That last panel has 'Knisley' all over it.
Just got my copy of French Milk. Can't wait to read through!
Well played! You are correct, Sir! Omahgawdohmagawd, I hope you like my boook!
I can always guess your panels by your lettering. Is that cheating?
aw man I guessed it without looking at the text but now you've forever ruined the lucy knisely panel game for me forever
I didn't have eyebrows when I was about five or so, but I REALLY wanted them because I watched a lot of adventure movies (Zorro, Robin Hood, Thief of Bagdad, etc), and all those guys had eyebrows in spades. So I'd draw 'em on with a brown crayola marker. Also, pencil-thin moustaches. My mom would wash it off most of the time, but sometimes I'd get out of the house like that.
Eyebrows are the tops, I'm glad I have some pretty okay ones now.
Man, I'm totally hot for eyebrows, too. I like old Judy Garland and Marilyn Monroe and Princess Grace eyebrows; big thick black ones that arch towards the sky and totally don't match the hair. But alas, I have, like, beige eyebrows. My face is a blank and empty canvas.
I too don't have very prominent eye brows. However about 6 months ago they started going from blond to brown. At the moment half of them are brown and half are blond. It is exciting times.
This is some terrific work!
I discovered your comic through Erika's live show a couple of days ago, and I have to say I love your stuff so... Wow, flowers just appeared while I was typing. Nifty!
...Sorry. ^^; Anyway, I really love your style so far. I've always loved panel comics, such a refreshing change from manga, much as I like both. And this comic, the one you did during your finals? Very interesting and it made me smile. Your brain seems to work a lot like mine, though you probably get tired of hearing fans say that. Anyway, love the work, and I look forward to seeing more! =D
It's the fourth one. The consistency of the linework and the way you drew his teeth is how I guessed ;]
dude, have some of my eyebrows. I have to pluck these bastards back.
Oh lucy, Im going to buy the shit outa your ware's! I might wait for another original or two to pop up and then BAMB, I'll be all over it! I hadn't even realized you had originals up for grabs!
Oh I mentioned it to Erika, and while its sounds like a doomed idea, I was thinking that you guys could do a webcomic, jointly. It would be all fancy and pretty, update twice a week (Erika on tuesdays and you on fridays or something), be all autobio (maybe each week is a different subject? who knows?), and be called the Lucy and Erika show or whatever... I mean its never been done before right? It could be a classy back and forth (maybe not as immidiatly combined as what you guys are doing atm, but still a jointly comic thing)... Well it sounded good in my head anyway =p
I've always greatly GREATLY admired you for doing this. It seems so much work but I think it's a real treasure, and you'll thank yourself later when you read this, and the memories are more vivid and clear than any photo or written diary could do provide. Plus us fans love it! It brightens my day! It inspires to work hard too!
And besides, great practise and hardening dicipline. I salute you!
When I was a kid - and still sometimes now - I used to play this mental parlour game, where I'd try and work back through the thread of my thoughts, to figure out why I happened to have just thought of a particular, otherwise random, thing.
For instance ...
"Why was I just thinking of mer-people? Oh yeah, 'cos I was just thinking about Lucy seeing the mer-people, in The voyage of the Dawn Treader. Why was I thinking about Lucy seeing the mer-people? Oh yeah, because I was remembering when I first read Dawn Treader. Why was I remembering the first time I read that book? Oh yeah, because I was thinking how much this morning reminded me of those summer holiday mornings, when I first read it ..."
... and so on.
Speaking of jam made with honey, you'd love the Chudleigh honey farm, not far from where I live (a little town in Tasmania). It has dozens of varieties of honey: Not just from different plants (i.e. boxwood, leatherwood, bluegum, etc.) but also different blends - raspberry honey, macadamia honey, chilli honey, and my favourite, chocolate honey past. We always go there, if we're passing through.
Oooh, I did the same thing with the memories, except I would always think "Wow, I probably won't remember this in 10 years.." but I still do!
And urgh, thankfully I am also capable of suppressing the embarrassing/negative memories if I chose to do so..
-also has invisible eyebrows, try a light, light tan eyebrow pencil, they work wonders! You'll be able to make faces you never were before! XP
I love your comics so much :) but I can never be 100% sure which panel is yours when it comes to the jam comics! But I'm guessing the last panel in this one? But I'm not positive...anyway, it is hilarious!
whoa! those cheese shirts rule!
That jam comic is great! And, oh wow... it looks like I just got myself a Lucy original on Etsy! I'm pretty excited. :)
I wish there were tiny historians in my brain recording my life too. Is the very last panel yours? It sure looks like it..
omigosh you two are so cute! :)
Imma say the 2nd and/or 5th ones. just wanted to say hi, discovered you through the lj highlight and Damn, you sure was pretty angst-ridden back in the day XD
the telepathy depiction is awesome, i love it!
I like the first story... the second is ... well...I like your aliens but ... it is too scary
Good lord, that alien comic is perhaps the funniest comic I have seen in a long time. It is genius. |
