yeah, i call those huge, giant guys at shows "sequoias". i ALWAYS am surrounded by a vast forest of sequoias at any show i go to. and i'm not even that short! i'm 5'6"! i think i just attract 6'6" men. ugh. i hate it.

This was awesome and may I suggest xkcd.com as far as webcomics. I have no connection to it (past adoring it). It is updated on Mon - Wed - Friday and i just fabu!

Hey, it's been forever and a bit since I've commented on your journal, but I still read it and love it. Anyway, the impetus for this comment is, well, I was reading a trashy magazine in an effort to ignore Christmas and in the Australian Cleo I read that apparently Natalie Portman recommends French Milk and there's a blurb and photo of the cover underneath some stock image of Portman. I'm not all for celebrity recommendations or trashy magazines (well, sometimes,) but there you go, you're big in Australia and I got a little excited, uh-huh.

i just finished your french milk book, got it this morning for christmas, and just wanted to leave a note saying how lovely it was. i wanted to write down all the places and food you mentioned for my own stay in paris. yay!

So, I don't know you at all, but I've been lj-stalking you for a long time and reading your work for longer, and I just felt a need to comment.

I work at a bookstore, in the travel section, and I was opening a box of books today and found French Milk at the top. I FLIPPED OUT! I was squealing and had to show everyone at work. I was so excited that we carry it in my section.

Anyway, that's my "Lucy sighting" story. Keep up being brilliant.
