Oops, I misspelled "euphemisms." ...and "avocado." Oh well. Scru it.

I spent the entire time cooking this recipe thinking,"There is no way that this is going to be edible." I'd never baked anything in a packet before, and I was worried the fish had been frozen too long. I completely made up all the ingredients, and the time/temp. I was shocked outta my mind that it was really good!
I usually call my mom to consult on cooking stuff, but she declared Tilapia to be "not even real fish" and refused to advise on the grounds that it's gross. But it was pretty good done this way! I spent the cleanup worrying that we were going to get food poisoning, because there is no way such a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants recipe wasn't going to do SOMETHING terrible, but we were fine! A COOKING MIRACLE.

Hey! I'm going to Vancouver, BC this weekend! Anyone wanna have lunch? I wanna eat OYSTERS.

I put a bunch of boring apartment pictures on my flickr. Exciiiting!

I'm so F-ing worked up about Coraline. The film has been tantalizing me with it's crazy beautiful visual teasers for YEARS now, and yesterday I finally got to see a John Linnell (of TMBG) snippet of song in the movie, and the bit was so good that I am actually sexually attracted to it.

Neil Gaiman + puppets + John Linnell = TOO MUCH LOVE FOR LUCY TO HANDLE

PS: Do you like my Corky userpic? WATCH HIM FLOAT AND BE MESMERIZED.
That is when he spears you on his horn.

Maybe it's just me but fish doesn't belong ANYWHERE near the word taco. hahaha

My family enjoys them though.

This is one of the few movies I'll bother going to the cinema to see. Pity they didn't use more of the TMBG's songs that were created for it!

1. I've just gotta ask; how is your name pronounced Lucy? It's been bugging me for a while. ( that is to say, your last name )
2. I will most certainly try this fish taco recipe, perhaps this weekend. It seems great, thanks for sharing.

I'm in Washington state this weekend and indefinitely.
I did the math and it appears that Vancouver is a four hour drive away.
If I find some cash money within the next 1-2 business days, I would be down.

I made fish tacos for my family once, and they all grumbled about it. They just will not accept Mexican food without large quantities of beef, cheese and carbs.

Come to think of it, I think they actually made me saute some ground beef with pre-packaged taco seasonings that night, against my will. *shudder*

You're lucky to grow up in a family of foodies Lucy. Much more fun than growing up as a foodie black sheep.

I'm excited for Coraline too! My fiance actually introduced it (the book) to me when we first met, a very long 6 years ago. He made me read that, and then he made me watch Amelie, and then he made me listen to Ben Kweller, and then we were in LUUUUUUURVE FOREVER.

DELICIOUS. You should always cook me dinner! Seriously, Lucy, a comic book cook book by you would be amazing. It seems like a great medium for the steps involved in recipes.

The Coraline book was so amazing. I was worried when I saw the art style of the movie didn't look too similar to Dave Mckean's art for the book, but I think it is a pretty hard style to match. I'm really excited about the movie.

In real life, I'm the only one I know who's excited about Coraline. And I'd forgotten about TMBG being in it, so, now more excited. And Corky... your coolness factor increases all the time.

I have to admit I'm pretty psyched to see this movie. Also: when I worked at a paper store last year somebody from Laika came in and bought a pack of Eames Architecture white paper to use for the leaves on the trees in this movie. (This reinforced my belief that it pays to be overly friendly and curious when you work in customer service.)

I have all the ingredients 'cept balsamic, ran out of that weeks ago.

I cook in parcels quite often (usually foil) Top Tip no 39: Anything cooked in a packet with cream, white wine and garlic tastes, well, good.

I am deeply enchanted by Corky the Winter Narwhal, not least because I only just became aware the other day of the whole internet narwhal thing: IS THAT NOT THE RADDEST SHIT YOU HAVE SEEN ALL DAY, etc.

In other news, I am more and more flaily about the awesomeness of Coraline with every ad I see. WOW. John Linnell, even! \o/
