I don't get Lost either :[
Somewhere near the start of the second season, my wife and I dubbed it "Lost Interest", and did just that.
Man, howcum your hourly comics look so POLISHED? I mean, that shit is tight. Nothin' sketchy about it.
I pencil them beforehand, but I'm pretty quick with this stuff. I'm usually a few hours behind at any time, but I always get 'em finished before midnight (until this week... urk). Also, they are pretty tiny. Like, this whole comic was done on two 8.5/11 inch sheets of paper.
You know those old cameras you see like in movies set in the 1800s where there's those big bellows and the photographer hides under a cloth while taking the picture?
That's a view camera.
Seriously? Is that what those are called, or are you making that up to sound like a smarty pants? I'm honestly really curious.
I also get so super pumped about going to bed that I then sometimes can't fall asleep. It's really disappointing.
Ahh, it's not that bad. I have a terrible habit of reading in bed before I sleep, and then I get so excited about being in bed and about reading that I'm too amped to calm down and get sleepy, so I continue to read until either it starts to get light out, or John yells at me to go to sleep. If I didn't get so excited about bed-times, I'd probably sleep more, ironically.
Ha! I said "Ew!" right before I read you thinking it. Because, ew.
Uuugh, and they were clearly joking around like that in order to be overheard by me, and to gross me out/perve at me, and yet the thought of that dude engaging in that act was so repellent that I honestly lost my appetite.
Apathy! That's the word I was trying to come up with to describe how I feel about Lost.
Also, Littlebigplanet? JEALOUS
Love these comics!
While we were watching the show, the giant closeup of Hurley made us laugh SO MUCH. Just getting closer and closer until he took up the ENTIRE SCREEN.
It was AWESOME.
I KNOWWWW! And John has this new big, widescreen TV, so it was especially hilarious because his face was forty inches across and his actual features are so small in his big face that it just looked like the cameraman was like, "how far can I push this shot?" I almost choked I laughed so hard at that. I'm not crazy about Lost, ever since it broke my heart after the first season didn't explain ANYTHING, but Hurley consistently gets big love from me. He usually says exactly what I'm thinking about how ridiculous the plot is. He is like the writer's apology to people like me who lost their faith in Lost.
Great comics! Earwax cafe is totally sweet!

wow, that is class stuff. :P lol.
this looks great. :D woo! Omg! Little Big Planet! :D
tee hee hee i giggle at "<-lost->" :D
Reckless Records IS High Fidelity. meaning, I have never felt comfortable there
Even the records in there are judging you. It's not a comfortable place.
I REALLY LOVE THIS. A LOT. Especially the pens bit. And the LOST bit. And the everything bit. :DDD
Also, OMG AMAZING ICON, HAHAHA.
i imagine pens do this too
I like these. They make me miss living in Chicago :3 I've never commented before, but I really love your work. I love, love, love that you write things like "I saw a cute boy" because I totally fall in love with every cute boy I see and want to document the moment. :)
no no no Lost is amazing. haha! i love your Hurley! Seriously it gets soooo good by the end of season 3 and the whooole season 4, it's worth slogging through crappy season 2. though i watched it all on dvd until season 4, so i didn't have to wait a week on a cliffhanger every time. i can see how people might give up.
ahhh sorry. I love your hourlies so much!!
Hmm. My boyfriend always thinks there's a "show them your willy" command in games. At least that's always what he recommends I do when I'm playing games and he's watching.
Lmao. When my brother first got Little Big Planet I didn't entirely understand what the game was about becauase the preview adverts didn't make sense... but my lord, it's the best game around. I introduced my boyfriend to it and we had ENDLESS amounts of fun attempting to complete levels.. but getting distracted by killing one another hehe :]
I don't get LOST either. It's all a bit random to me, but my friends can't get enough of it. I quite like one of the men from it though... He's on that male cologne advert (Along with the pretty lady... who my boyfriend LOVES to pieces :P. It's a scent for everyone, it seems )
hee hee! That was me last night, SO excited to be in bed that it took a really long time to get the needed sleep. :(
I like your 8pm double-Lost!
dude, I swear to god, when I saw the close up face of Hurley, I thought to myself, "I really want to draw that later" but I never did. sigh.
Man. I loved that Cusack film! The best scene was the one they cut though. That was the very film that convinced me that DVD's were worth it.
I don't know you, but I heart you. keep drawing/writing. You inspire me to want to try harder.
Your dream sounds like a field hockey version of the video for Matthew Good's "Load Me Up." (Do people in America even know who Matt Good is?)
Yes. I love Matthew Good. I totally had a poster of the Beautiful Midnight cover on my wall in college.
This made me smile. I should give hourlies a try. |
