I used to have a dog who did a variant of the flop. She would just fold her legs. I don't mean fold and gracefully lower herself. She would be standing and just raise her legs and crash down. We always knew when the dog was taking a nap. You could hear the crash and feel the house shudder when she fell. Weird dog.

We call the "prairie dog" a bear! When we give her treats we lift them above her head and say, "Be a bear!" and she does. This is the only way we give her treats, because we're terrible kittyparents.
