Sexytimes Poster-- Printed! [Apr. 9th, 2009|04:57 pm]

Sexytimes Poster!

Check it out! The poster that Erika Moen and I did of happy, fun, delighted sexiness
is printed and ready to be tacked up (or tastefully framed) in your foyer!
They'll be available at Stumptown, and later on the internet and at my other convention stops this summer.
I'll put some up on Etsy when I get back from Portland. Stay tuned!

I feel bad not posting a comic (again), but surely this boring, text-only life update will do!
Sorry.

Once or twice a year, I spend about three weeks in a total panic, trying to get about ten major printing projects completed before the convention season starts. This year, I got busy on it way in advance, and, instead, meted the panic out over closer to six months.

Still, I was completely crazy in recent weeks, printing a handful of newer projects, and preparing them, also, to hand in for my final days at the Center for Cartoon Studies.

So this week I'm sort-of in "recovery mode" (This means near-constant napping and cat-hugging, punctuated by brief flurries of preparations and bike rides).

I've been trying to address my pile of unanswered emails. This is such a weird and awful habit of mine-- I get all flustered when I get a nice email from a stranger, and then I put it in a file to be answered when I am less flustered and at a loss as to how to adequately respond, and then the whole file of emails grows to such quantities that I'm too intimidated to even open the damn thing and the guilt makes me need to eat some jam and hug the cat. Still, I'm working on it!

Teaching continues well (I have off today for Parent Teach Conferences), though this recent third session of my class has dawned with hints of strangeness to come.

I've also been vowing to take more photos these days, and I've been doing alright with this resolution, so far.

I'm going home for a few days, to help my mom with her Easter party and do a couple university book talks in New York City. Then it's Portland for Stumptown (and doughnuts and stripclubs), and then I'll be just days away from TCAF, Maine Comic Arts, and my graduation... followed by MoCCA, a possible trip to visit friends in Germany, and the eventual onset of desperate, masters-in-arts-certified-not-that-it-does-me-any-good unemployment. Whee!

Life is weird, yo.

That looks excellent and the photo suits it perfectly.

Still, I'm working on it! -- I DO THIS TOO!

I'm doing a talk at FIT for their writing club, and I'm going to speak at a class there. I think it's supposed to be for students, but I doubt very much that a university would turn anyone away from a school-sponsored event. Storm the gates, if you wanna!

About a year and a half ago, I made a resolution to take at least one picture every single day. It's been going pretty well. It makes it a lot easier to remember what's gone on in the past year and a half or so.

I've been wanting to write you a letter telling you how much I appreciate your online journal, but I figured you would have said-pile of backlogged emails...

I just wanted to tell you what an inspiration you've been even though I've only just recently discovered your work, and we do slightly different things (both in comics, both taking slice-of-life moments, you just do it better!)

Thanks so much. :)

I'm not going to any fancy shmancy conventions, but I will totally buy one of those prints if you sell it on Etsy. :D

Hi Lucy! I have been following your work on Google Reader, but thought I would add you as a friend on livejournal since sometimes I check that more often. I wanted to let you know, because even though I'm sure you have tons of people who add you just because they are fans, I think it's polite to let you know why a random girl is adding you :) I love your art, thanks for sharing!

Ei Lucy I gave John my login username for my flickr page instead of my actual flickr account name. Here's the set photo set:

Good to see you and John in person. I was more interested to meet you two along with Erika and Matt than the special guests at the event haha. Thanks a million :D

Hi Lucy, love your comics! I showed your Alinea comic to the owner of Alinea through Twitter, and he really liked (which I thought was pretty neat). That is all.
