Happy Day-Off-From-Work! Here is a comic.
Oh, and I got a haircut. Don't be confused-- it is really me and not a bespectacled Peppermint Patty. Just in case you were wondering about my short hair in the comic.

I've been back from my crazy road trip for a bit less than a week, now. It was fun times, and craziness.
(this is me in Mark's dad's cool old car. Killa sweet ride.)
Started out at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival. Really fun, and probably the best convention I've ever had in terms of how much I sold. Plus Mark and Erika and I got to see Michael Cera (from only half-a-block away, and within shouting distance for Erika to shreik "George Michael!" in awe.) on our way outta town. I also met some amazing peeps. Thanks again to everyone who stopped by to say hello!

Then we went on to Vermont, where I walked in my commencement ceremony at the Center for Cartoon Studies. I'm a MASTER now, fool! I got that diploma so fast, I blurred the camera, whaaat!

Then we drove on to the Maine Comic Arts Festival, which was great fun, especially because Joe and Maris gave me cannolis and poutine. It was made all the more special by an appearance by CAT DANCER. Yesss. I also got to meet longtime LJ pals, derien and eor, and hang out a bit in pretty Portland Maine.* I think this convention is very nice, and going to get better. I recommend it!
*In the last two months, I've been to comic arts festivals in Portland OR and Portland ME. Opposite ends of the country! Woo!
Then it was two days of solid driving back across the country. On the way, Mark and John and I stopped for a bit to stare at Niagra Falls and see the raaaainbow that it made. (not pictured)
(note my totally stylin' clippie sunglasses. Yeaaah.)
Next up, the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Arts Festival in NYC. And that'll be the last convention I attend this season (phew), so please come and visit me there! Boy, four conventions doesn't seem like a lot, but PHEW.
I'm trying an experiment this week. I don't want to give too much away, because I'm making a little comic about it, and also part of my reasons for doing it wont be announced fully until next week. But if you're too intrigued to wait, then you can read about my progress on my Twitter account. |

Can't wait to meet my fav cartoonist this weekend in NYC. I'll be the chick smiling all goofy and buying up everything. I'm hoping I can convince you to particpate in my social project. politicsoflove.blogspot.com I really love how you and Erika brooch sexuality in your cartoons and I'm crossing my fingers thinking maybe you'd like to talk about it over at my video blog! | |
