Re: These are so awesome!
What? That TRAITOR! How could he do that to you?
I haven't tried it yet, but I'm really excited about it.
And how can you complain when you have the glorious Canadian Blue? Ah, Canadian beer, you flavor my adolescent Quebec summers with a skunky chill...
I know-- she's like a cat model.... A plus-sized zaftig one...
and have a happy birthday!

Re: hooray for hourlies!
Thank you! I'm sure I will, with THE POWER OF THE CRYSTAL HEAD!
Ahh! I so want to do an hourly comic... but 16 of the panels (for 8 hours) would be the same thing. Blah...
Absolutely love yours!
How was the crystal head?
We haven't tried it yet! We're saving it for my birthday dinner on saturday night.
I'm really excited about it. Dan Akroyd mighta built this one up too high to reach.
As for the hourly comic content: Most of my day is the same thing, too. It's nice to try to observe that there's more stuff happening than what's in my brain, or the constant overworking of my hand at the paper.
I love this comic! This is also me and my cat, even down to the WEIRDO HAIR LICKING. Great job :)
oh what a coincidence, I was in Vancouver for Xmas and in the liquor store there the first thing that caught my eye was that hilarious glass-skull-vodka (they had one out of the box!)
& happy birthday :P
I feel like such a voyeur! It's always lovely to see your drawings.
Saaaaaaaaay, do you think I could procure a print of your "Twilight" summary comic. My daughter, who is ten and doesn't understand the teen lust hoopla in the media but is curious about the book series thinks it's the best comic ever. I had to bookmark it because she wants to look at it every day.
Haha! Of course! Email me and I'll send it off right away. Do you want the summary page? Or the other page? Or both?
I find that people who make their own birthday happiness (cupcakes, party... skully vodka) have the best birthdays. Not a dumb thing at all.
(P.S. I have been reading your comics since early this year, and I enjoy the heck out of them. I went to a summer session of CCS after finding out it existed at all via a link somewhere on here. I wasn't the only one there for that reason, either!)

Oh Lucy, you are the best. Have I ever told you that? Because I'm not sure I have.
Oh, yes, right. Several times, in fact. My apologies.
Man, I do the that bag-of-rice footwarmer thing, too! Except mine is a store-bought one my parents got for me. I love the way you draw Linney...perfect cat expressions! Glad to see you're doing this again this year, I really enjoyed reading them in 2009.
Ah, I thought it was a cat-shaped paperweight.

There isn't a situation as nearly frustrating like the "Towel in the Bathroom" scenario
That should have been "Towel in Bedroom".

Crystal Head of Awesome
I was at Binney's in Naperville during Christmas week and bought one of those as a present for my cousin. She is going to fill it with jellybeans and take it to work when she's done drinking it. She says it is tasty and smooth.
You know, lately I've found that my toes just can't seem to stay warm underneath all my blankets... and then I saw this! Thank you so much for the homemade foot warmer idea, I think I just might be using that in the near future.
Warm toes, here I come.
(Whoops, accidentally posted this as a reply to someone instead of a new comment... Sorry beaniesue!)
It. Is. GREAT.
I was such a frequent a hot-water-bottle user that I WORE MINE OUT and it started to leak, so I discovered the rice heating pad, which is almost cheap as free, and reusable.
Man, it is the best heating pad everrrr. Sometimes I break it out and just put it on the back of my neck while I work. It's like the pleasure of a beanbag and a hot water bottle combined, with the added benefit that it smells a bit like warm soup. I looove it.
Happy birthday + Crystal Head Vodka for the win!
i am turning 21 on sunday! this is very good timing, as i, too, am doing hourly comics every day this month! (or this week. we will see how it goes) anyway, they're on my LJ if you wanna scan 'em! they are not nearly so well drawn as yours, though, so be forewarned.
happy birthday!! And thank you so much for reminding me about hourly-comics!! I have missed it every year that I've known about it, BUT NOT THIS YEAR!!! I need to get in some practice too.
PS I'm so amazed by the NEATNESS of your writing. It's so... legible.
Birthday cupcakes! What a brilliant idea! :D Happy birthday! -(in advance) hehe...
Aw, John didn't make it to your hourlies. It's always so cute when you 3 get together. <:)
i think i'm in love with your user icon. what/where's it from?
Thanks for sharing your hourlies and a happy birthday on top!
The awkward drawing so as to not jostle the cat, oh man, I can relate to that. I kind of abuse it, actually... "I can't get out of bed yet - the cat is comfortably nestled between my knees."
"What do you mean Mother? I cannot go to school! I am weighed down by this cat!"
Sometimes I wish all cats looked like the way you draw yours. Is that strange?
And happy near-birthday!
Your kitty and my kitties have any of the same habits.
These are so incredibly GREAT! I always laugh whenever I see/read anything you have done. Oh and I LOVE your cat Linney, she is a real star! hahahahahah
