In Oscar's Footsteps




The Brooklyn Book Festival was this past weekend. I didn't get to as many events as I wanted to, but I did catch a panel on Sex in Comics that featured some cartoonists I really like. As usual, I doodled while I listened.

Happy apple picking season! I hear the season is going to be short this year, so get to your local farmer's market and EAT SOME APPLES.

APPLES! I'm dying to go apple picking this fall, but I think the orchard I usually go to only has one more date to pick your own. Dang you, spring frost! But I'm glad to see you included my favourite apples, Honeycrisp and Jonagold :)

No pink lady? That is the best apple. I'm also partial to a nice crisp braeburn. Out of these lads, I'd probably go for the gala, but then again, I haven't heard of many of them! :(

I had a Sweetango apple today. It has a fucking stupid name, but it is incredibly good. It's a cross between a Honeycrisp and a Zestar.

Mmmm Fuji apple. I love them so much, all sweet and crisp, but now all I can find are Pink Lady in all of my local supermarkets and it's just not the same. :(
