Lucy is a comic artist. Sometimes she is also a puppeteer, musician, animator and food-writer. She is 26 years old.
She graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2007, and received her Masters in Fine Arts from the Center for Cartoon Studies, in 2009.
She lives in Chicago with her room/studiomate, Nora Renick-Rinehart, in an apartment full of plants and art.
In 2008, she authored and published a graphic travelogue, "French Milk" (from Simon and Schuster), about her experiences living in Paris with her chef mother. She has contributed pieces to numerous comics and humor anthologies, including "You Ain't No Dancer," "Side B," and "I Saw You." She teaches classes to children on making comics, where she is soundly outclassed by her pupils.
Presently, she is working to complete a full-color graphic novel containing stories about her childhood among foodies and restauranteurs, entitled "Relish" from First Second Publishing.
She was born with the anomaly of having three front bottom teeth, instead of the usual four. She can also make a clover leaf with her tongue. A mutant? Parhaps.
She likes to ride her scooter, make puppets, play video games, read, cook, and watch television intended for much younger audiences.
